While I’m not crazy about the high number of Wii U ports on the Switch, this one I was happy to add to my collection. I have a weak spot for Mario side scroller games and my all time favorite is Super Mario World. This game definitely scratches that itch while modernizing it with excellent graphics and new game features. It has a variety of characters that you can play from (although I’ll always choose Luigi when he is a game option). The only negative I find with this game is that most levels are not very challenging, but that is pretty standard for most Mario side scrollers. I think I have been spoiled by playing too many great Kaizo levels added in Mario Maker 2 that these actual Nintendo produced side scrollers can just be beaten too easily! Overall, I think it is definitely worth the pick up...but for a 9 year old game, I’d wait for it to go on sale and target $30-$40 as a purchase price.
